Wrinkles result from a combination of many factors, such as cellular changes, the reduction of collagen, along with damage caused by free radicals in the sun and the environment.
Wrinkles and fine lines are also a byproduct of ongoing use and expression. When you frown or concentrate, the muscles between your brows contract, causing your skin to crease and fold. When you squint, muscles contract and fold the skin around your eyes.
Without treatment, lines naturally progress to become deeper and more apparent.
Botox® is a specific brand of neuromodulator that refines and diminishes lines by blocking the signals from the nerve to the muscles. The injected muscle can no longer contract, causing wrinkles to relax and soften.
By injecting a neuromodulator (botulinum toxin type A) beneath the surface of your skin, we can reduce the muscle contractions in your face, ultimately smoothing those creases and softening those lines, bringing back your youthful skin and reducing the aging of your skin.
At Thrive Medical Aesthetics, we carry two FDA-approved neuromodulator treatments—Botox® and Dysport®.
